Grey’s Pet Hotel was founded in February 2023 by Jen Ochoa, who is a fur mom of Grey, a fluffy, male Bichon-frisé breed.
The history of Grey’s Pet Hotel business was all because of Grey. It was December 2022, when Grey’s fur mom had an out-of-town trip and didn’t have a place where she could temporarily leave Grey for one night. Without a choice, she left Grey at a pet hotel, where, unfortunately, she got the worst dog boarding experience.
Grey’s first dog hotel experience was awful. When she checked out Grey the next day, he was shabby and smelled bad, so you can probably tell that he was not well taken care of; the food and treats brought for him were not consumed
; the hotel’s air conditioning was turned off (they didn’t expect the time we would come to their hotel); and lastly, no updates were given unless we initiated to ask.
Too many red flags! But the worst of all? Grey’s traumatized. A week later, we noticed that his behavior changed; he easily got mad and gave non-stop barking to strangers. Sadly, he’s never been like this before. As we got him checked by the professional, the vet, they told us that it would be probable, or maybe because we left him with someone he didn’t know, and maybe he was beaten or punched. That’s why his behavior towards other people, specifically strangers, changes.
Of their love for dogs, and through this happening, Jen decided to build her own dog hotel called “Grey’s Pet Hotel." The main reason is for the other dogs to not experience the trauma that Grey’s has. She wanted to have a homey place where the dogs would be seriously taken care of, like how she takes care of Grey. It’s not just about business, but for her, all the dogs deserve love and affection and a good service where they will feel safe and relaxed even when their fur parents are away. Lastly, for her, all fur parents deserve peace of mind while away from their dogs.
